Happy New Year FL 07!!
We sure got the New Year off to a great start! Our first show of the ‘06 season was a huge success with 149 in the Open, 5 in the Seniors(Adult) and 40 in the Youth (more if the weather hadn’t turned so ugly). Thanks to those of you who got the sponsors that generously donated towards our added money! And thanks to others that baked cakes or brought tack to be given away in our cake/tack walk and sent clothes for the “yard sale“. I haven’t tallied up all the monies yet, but I feel safe to say we made over $1500! A great start!! Now, if we could just keep that momentum going…..who knows, we might be able to give those saddles next year! Keep it up!! Thanks to our Sponsors!! Member, Gladys Magee, lost her big hearted little mare, Sundance during the show, Sunday. While waiting for her turn to run, Sundance suddenly went down and died there at the show. We’re not sure what was the cause, but after talking to her vet, thinks it was probably a rupture or tear in a vein. Our condolences go out to Gladys on her loss. Change of Class This past year, we created a class for those of you who wanted another class to run, one that the youth could not run in, the Adult Class. After only having 3 or 4 to enter at the beginning then none the last several shows, a suggestion was made to replace the Adult Class with a 2 D Polebending class. Seniors can have their run in the Open class count towards their Senior points (since we have so few Seniors). Seniors, you will have to pay your Senior entry to do this. The 2 D Poles will be run after the Youth. Congratulations World Qualifiers!!!
